How to become the President of the US
Have you ever wondered how the US President wins the election?
Becoming President
The US. has a special system for its presidential election that is held every four years. This system is called the Electoral College.
When Americans vote, they choose electors who support a particular presidential candidate.

The electoral votes
The number of electors a state gets is based on its size and representation in Congress. After the voting, the state awards its electors to the candidate with the most votes. These electors then pledge their support to that candidate.

Federal principles
The goal for any presidential candidate is to earn the support of 270 electors out of a total of 538. 270 is just over half, and getting this means they have the majority support.
The candidate who reaches this number first is declared the winner and becomes the next President of the United States.
