What is source evaluation?
When you’re scrolling through social media, and news articles and reports pop up on your screen, you might assume that all of these pieces are true and credible. The same can be said about reading the news online.
A lot of news articles and research reports are trustworthy. However, there are also quite a few that can be made up or fake, otherwise known as ‘fake news’. The sources used to create these news articles are incorrect or lacking information.

Access to vast amounts of information comes with significant challenges
The internet and social media have provided access to vast amounts of information to the public at large. It is possible to research and gather large quantities of information in a short period of time and share it with others.
This access has also created significant challenges. With Google being used as our primary research platform, and social media for sharing information, it can become difficult to sift the real news from the fake news.
